Supported Browsers

As you may know, Microsoft discontinued support of its Windows XP operating system on April 8, 2014. Because of this, no future security patches will be available, leaving users exposed to potential risk. As Windows XP users aren’t able to upgrade beyond Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), and with the large number of users now upgrading their operating systems, @ccessUS service provider will no longer support IE8 starting June 26, 2014.

Why will @ccessUS no longer support IE8?
Users who have Microsoft XP as their operating system are not able to upgrade their browsers beyond IE8. On April 8, 2014 Microsoft discontinued support of the Windows XP and as a result, no future security patches will be available, leaving users exposed to potential risks. Because of the risks, many users have already upgraded their operating system, which in turn has led our @ccessUS service provider to determine that support for IE8 was no longer necessary.

If you are not able to upgrade your operating system from XP, you can still reach @ccessUS from an alternate browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari. You will also have a grace period until June 26, 2014 to upgrade your browser or to download one of the supported browsers.

When will @ccessUS stop supporting IE8?
@ccessUS will no longer support IE8 on June 26, 2014.

What will happen if I log into @ccessUS with IE8 after June 26, 2014?
You will still be able to log into @ccessUS, but you may experience limited functionality or an altered site layout.

It is important to note for Windows XP users that while you will still be able to reach @ccessUS using IE8, Microsoft no longer supports your operating system, leaving you exposed to potential security risks. We highly recommend upgrading your operating system as soon as possible. 

Will access be blocked for users who attempt to login using Internet Explorer 8?
No, IE8 users will not be blocked from using @ccessUS, but you may experience limited functionality or an altered site layout. In the past, measures have been taken to fully block access to browsers that are no longer supported or patched. This will not be the case for IE8 at this time, however it may be a possibility once Microsoft discontinues support of IE8. The discontinuation of support for IE8 is related to the sunset of XP support, not Microsoft’s support of IE8.

How can I tell if I am using IE8?
Open Internet Explorer, go to the Help menu or gear icon and click About Internet Explorer. The window that appears should show the version of Internet Explorer you are running on your computer. 

What browsers will be supported?

  • Internet Explorer 10 & 11
  • Google Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Apple Safari

How do I download a supported browser?
Use Internet Explorer to search for one of the providers and follow the instructions to download one of the new browsers from a trusted site. 

Once you have downloaded one of the supported browsers, begin using it instead of IE8 to search the web and access your frequent sites.
